Managed by Susan Thomson, a previous winner of the Manager of The Year award, and her dedicated team of Home Care Officers and Administrators.

I joined my family’s business, Care Services Perth, 20 years ago as it was expanding. The timing was perfect as I was looking to move into a role that allowed me to use my existing skills and develop into management.

We have a fantastic team of people here who make the business feel like an extension of the family.

There have been many highlights over the years, but one to stand out is winning 2012 Manager of The Year, nominated in recognition from families I support.

I’m a great believer in work/life balance. In my down time I love to keep myself fit and healthy by going to the gym and spending time with my two daughters and close friends.

In 2008 I joined the team looking for a new challenge. Previously, I have worked and different industries and wanted to develop in the sector where I could provide care for people.

I have gained a lot of experience and learnt new skills here, with my favourite part of my work being how rewarding this role is. It is fantastic to see the positive outcomes for people who use our services.

Away from the office, I love to get outside on big walks, go travelling, and watch ice hockey!

Working in care already, I made the move to Care Services Perth as I’d heard such positive feedback. The company has a great reputation and I was looking to work with a team who cared about their users and their staff – the same reason I ventured into this sector. It’s been a perfect fit!

I meet so many interesting people from different backgrounds here. No two days are the same.

Since working in this role I’ve become a Moving and Handling Trainer, where I’m responsible for training staff. This part of my work is as rewarding as any other, as I feel proud when they complete training and I see them go onto to use these skills with our users.

In my spare time I like to socialise with my friends and family, and relax at home!

I joined the company in 2020 during Covid.

I got thinking about what was important in life and, of course, saw so much focus on care and decided I would like to learn more. I was looking for a change of career having worked in recruitment for over 20 years, and wanted to utilise my skills and learn new ones.

At Care Services Perth we are always busy and every day is different! My favourite part is working with such a great team of people.

Away from work I enjoy spending time with friends and family.!
